Privacy

The short version: an email address if you give us one, and nothing else that identifies you.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store the email address you type, the word describing which form you used, the time, and the two letter country code that our hosting provider derives from your connection. That is the complete record. We do not ask for your name and we have no field for it.

What we do not do

  • No advertising trackers, no analytics cookies, no pixels, no fingerprinting scripts.
  • No third party advertising of any kind, so no advertising identifiers.
  • No affiliate links, so no click tracking through a commercial network.
  • No selling, renting, sharing or licensing of the list. Sponsors receive no reader data at all.
  • No tracking pixel in the newsletter, so we do not know whether you opened it.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. Web fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to that service in order to fetch them; that request necessarily reveals your IP address to Google in the same way any request for a file does. No cookie is set by us in connection with it.

We process a newsletter address on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time. Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 you may ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to editor@glowgazette.co.uk and we will do it. Deletion is genuine deletion, not suppression flagging. If you are unsatisfied with how we have handled a request you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Retention

Newsletter addresses are held until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Correspondence is held only as long as needed to deal with it, other than records we must keep for accounting.

Where it is held

Subscriber records are stored in a key value store operated by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and may be replicated across their infrastructure. Payments for listings and sponsorship are handled by invoice through Glow Gazette and are not processed on this site.

Children

This is a general readership magazine and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under thirteen.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the change is described in the newsletter rather than announced by a silent edit.
